Ayla - Shade Only - 22 cm Vintage White Tapered Shade

The Ayla shade combines a gently tapered profile with a decorative scalloped outline. The vintage white cotton fabric has a subtle woven texture, while carefully finished taped edges emphasise the curved silhouette.

Its softly shaped fabric panels create a delicate, flower-like appearance when viewed from above or below. The decorative construction introduces visual interest without relying on bold colours or elaborate patterns.

A supporting steel frame maintains the shade's form. The warm off-white colouring complements classic lamp bases and natural interior finishes, making it suitable for bedrooms, living rooms and other comfortably furnished spaces.

The Ayla is a decorative fabric lampshade rather than a complete light fitting. Its cotton covering helps soften the appearance of light passing through the shade, while the open top and bottom allow illumination to pass through the openings.

The shade features a fixed three-arm gimbal positioned 9.5 cm below the upper edge. This mounting arrangement is an important consideration when checking compatibility with an existing lamp.

It is listed as suitable for B22 and E14 lampholders, with additional compatibility for E27 fittings reported when an appropriate shade-ring arrangement is used. Check the lampholder and any required reducer ring before purchasing.

The shade has no electrical components, integrated light source or built-in switching mechanism. Light output, colour temperature and brightness control depend on the separate lamp and bulb used.

For suitable table lamps, the shade can provide softer ambient lighting while retaining the decorative character of the lamp base.

• Bedside table lamps where softer ambient lighting is preferred.
• Living room side tables with decorative or classic lamp bases.
• Console tables and occasional lamps in hallways.
• Traditional bedrooms with neutral, cream or warm white furnishings.
• Modern classic interiors featuring brass, ceramic or wooden details.
• Refreshing an existing compatible table lamp without replacing the base.

• Handcrafted cotton shade with decorative scalloped edges for a distinctive, softly curved appearance.
• Vintage white fabric complements a wide range of existing lamp finishes and room colours.
• 22 cm diameter provides a compact shade size for smaller decorative lamps.
• 13 cm height creates a relatively low-profile silhouette suitable for bedside and occasional lighting.
• Taped fabric edges provide a neat visual outline around the scalloped design.
• Fabric covering helps soften direct light and reduce the harsh appearance of an exposed bulb.
• Steel internal frame supports the tapered shape.
• Fixed three-arm gimbal provides a defined mounting position, with a 9.5 cm drop from the shade's upper edge.
• Separate shade construction makes it possible to update a compatible existing lamp without purchasing a complete new fitting.

• The scalloped profile provides decorative character that distinguishes it from a conventional straight-sided lampshade.
• Vintage white cotton offers a restrained colour that can be coordinated with different furniture and interior finishes.
• Its compact proportions are particularly useful for smaller table lamps and bedside arrangements.
• The combination of textured fabric and a tapered shape suits both traditional and modern classic room settings.
• Replacing a compatible existing shade is a straightforward way to change the visible appearance of a lamp while retaining its original base.

Will the Endon Ayla shade fit my existing table lamp?

The Ayla has a 22 cm diameter and a fixed three-arm gimbal positioned 9.5 cm below the top edge. Check the size of your existing shade, the lampholder type and the position of the mounting ring before ordering. Not every lamp base uses the same shade attachment.

Which lampholders are compatible with this lampshade?

The shade is listed as suitable for B22 and E14 lampholders. E27 compatibility is also reported when the appropriate shade-ring arrangement is used. Confirm the mounting ring and reducer requirements for your particular lamp, as the bulb cap alone does not guarantee that the shade will fit.

Does the Ayla lampshade include a bulb or lamp base?

No. Product code 118625 is supplied as a separate cotton lampshade. The lamp base, lampholder and light bulb are not included. It is intended to be fitted to a compatible existing lamp or light fitting.

Does the vintage white cotton allow light to pass through?

Yes. The cotton fabric helps diffuse light from a suitable bulb, creating a softer appearance than a completely exposed light source. The resulting brightness and colour depend on the bulb used, the existing lamp and the surrounding room conditions.

Is this shade suitable for a bedside lamp?

Yes, provided the mounting arrangement and proportions suit the lamp base. The shade measures 22 cm across and 13 cm high, making it a useful option for smaller bedside and occasional lamps. Its vintage white fabric can help soften the appearance of bedside lighting.
