Crystal or acrylic – what's the difference?

Real crystal and glass give the sharpest sparkle and a reassuring weight, and tend to be the choice for a statement piece. Acrylic lights use a clear moulded material that catches the light in a similar way, but they're lighter and more affordable, which makes them handy for larger fittings or a tighter budget. Both look great, so it often comes down to the finish you want and what you'd like to spend.

Many of our crystal and acrylic fittings use LED, either as integrated boards or with LED-compatible lamp holders, so you get the same sparkle with lower running costs and bulbs you rarely need to change. Add a dimmer and you can take a crystal chandelier from bright for dinner to soft for the evening.
