What is the IP rating?
IP rating (IP = ingress protection) is a rating on light fittings exposed to water, moisture and dust, the higher the number the better the protection. IP44 is frequently used for protection from foreign objects and against water damage, this rating is suitable for most situations. Many recessed floor lights use IP67 to protect against the effects of heavy rainfall. Please refer to the size and specification tab of the chosen fitting to see which IP rating it has.
