Royal - Antique Brass Table Lamp with Clear Ribbed Glass

The Royal table lamp combines an antique brass finish with a clear cylindrical glass shade featuring vertical ribbed detailing. The warm metallic finish provides a classic decorative touch, while the transparent glass gives the lamp a lighter, more contemporary appearance.

Constructed from metal and glass, the design features a broad circular base and a matching metal band around the top of the shade. The glass remains the main visual feature, with its ribbed surface creating subtle variations in the appearance of the exposed light source.

At 23.8 cm high and 18 cm wide, its compact proportions make it suitable for smaller furniture surfaces as well as larger decorative arrangements.

The Royal table lamp uses one replaceable E27 screw-cap bulb, which must be purchased separately. Searchlight specifies an E27 GLS LED bulb, with a traditional 60W equivalent rating. A recommended LED wattage of up to 8W provides a practical starting point when selecting an appropriate replacement lamp.

Its clear ribbed glass allows light to pass through the sides of the shade, making it suitable for supplementary illumination on bedside tables, consoles and living room furniture. The final brightness and colour temperature depend on the bulb selected.

For a softer appearance, a warm white LED bulb can help create a comfortable atmosphere in bedrooms and living areas. A neutral white bulb may suit spaces where a less warm light colour is preferred.

An inline on/off switch on the power cable provides straightforward control without needing to reach the lampholder. The lamp does not have a built-in dimmer and operates with on/off control only.

The IP20 rating and Class 2 double-insulated construction make it suitable for normal dry indoor applications.

What bulb does the Searchlight Royal 82437-1AB use?

The lamp requires one E27 screw-cap bulb, which is not included. Searchlight specifies a GLS LED bulb. A recommended LED wattage of up to 8W per bulb applies. You can choose a suitable warm white or neutral white LED lamp depending on the type of lighting you prefer.

Is the Royal table lamp dimmable?

No. The Searchlight Royal 82437-1AB is specified as non-dimmable and uses an inline on/off switch on its power cable. It does not have an integrated brightness adjustment function.

Is this lamp suitable for a bedside table?

Yes. Measuring 23.8 cm high and 18 cm wide, the Royal table lamp is compact enough for many bedside tables. Its clear ribbed glass shade provides supplementary lighting, and the inline switch allows the lamp to be operated without reaching inside the fitting.

Does the clear glass shade soften the light?

The ribbed glass adds visual texture, but the shade remains transparent and the bulb is visible. Light output and perceived brightness therefore depend significantly on the bulb selected. A warm white LED lamp with a suitable brightness can help create a softer appearance in a bedroom or living room.

Can the Royal table lamp be used in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. The lamp has an IP20 rating and is designed for normal dry indoor locations. It is not intended for outdoor exposure or areas where water splashes or excessive moisture may reach the fitting. Choose a suitably rated light for bathroom or outdoor applications.
