Toluca - Black Up & Down Wall Lamp with Clear Detailing

The Toluca features a tall, cylindrical design in a black finish, with a compact rectangular wall mounting section positioned behind the main body. Its simple shape and restrained detailing give it a contemporary appearance suitable for a variety of exterior architectural styles.

The housing is made from ABS and polycarbonate, with clear polycarbonate diffusers at the upper and lower ends. These allow light to escape in both directions while maintaining the fitting's enclosed appearance.

With an overall height of 29.5 cm and a width of 9 cm, the light has a relatively slim profile that works particularly well when installed in pairs or repeated along an exterior wall.

The Searchlight Toluca uses two replaceable E27 LED bulbs, with one light source directed upwards and the other downwards. This arrangement provides illumination above and below the fitting, creating a decorative effect on exterior walls while helping illuminate the surrounding area.

The manufacturer specifies a maximum of 15W per E27 LED bulb. Both bulbs must be purchased separately, giving you the flexibility to select a suitable colour temperature and brightness for your outdoor space.

Warm white LED bulbs can help create softer, more welcoming entrance lighting, while cooler colour temperatures produce a clearer, more neutral appearance.

As a mains-wired fitting with replaceable E27 bulbs, it is compatible with dimmable E27 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly.

The IP44 rating provides protection against solid objects larger than 1 mm and water splashing from any direction, making the fitting suitable for appropriately positioned outdoor wall installations.

Are the bulbs included with the Searchlight Toluca 39970BK?

No. The Toluca requires two E27 LED bulbs, which must be purchased separately. The manufacturer specifies a maximum of 15W per bulb. You can choose an appropriate LED colour temperature and brightness to suit the appearance and lighting requirements of your outdoor space.

Does this outdoor wall light shine upwards and downwards?

Yes. The fitting contains two separate light sources, with one directed upwards and the other downwards. This arrangement produces illumination in both directions, helping to highlight the wall above and below the light. The final effect depends on the bulbs selected and the surrounding wall surface.

Can the Searchlight Toluca be dimmed?

The fitting is compatible with dimmable E27 LED bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs should not be used for dimming.

Is the Toluca 39970BK suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The Toluca is designed as an outdoor wall light and has an IP44 rating. This provides protection against splashing water from any direction. It is suitable for appropriately positioned exterior walls, but should not be installed where it could be submerged or subjected to high-pressure water jets.

Does this wall light need an earth connection?

No earth connection to the fitting is required because the Toluca is a Class II double-insulated light. It is designed for fixed mains wiring and should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical regulations by a suitably qualified electrician.
