Track Lighting

Track lighting is the most flexible way to light a room. A powered rail carries several adjustable spot heads that you can slide along, aim individually, and add to or remove as you like. From one power point you get a whole run of directional light, which makes track a favourite for kitchens, open-plan rooms, home offices and lighting artwork.

What is track lighting?

Track lighting is a length of powered track fixed to the ceiling, with individual spot heads clipped onto it. Each head tilts and turns to aim the light, and the heads slide along the track so you can space them however you want. Because one track feeds them all, you light a whole area from a single connection instead of wiring in separate fittings.

Why choose track over fixed spotlights?

Flexibility. With fixed spotlights the heads stay where you fit them, but on a track you can move them, add more, or re-aim the whole set when you rearrange the room or hang new art. It's ideal for renters, changing layouts and rooms where your lighting needs shift over time.

Often, yes. Many systems let you join lengths and turn corners with connectors, so the track can follow the shape of the room. You can add heads up to the track's rated limit, and choose single-circuit track for a straightforward run or multi-circuit if you want separate groups of lights on different switches.

LED and dimming?

Track heads take GU10 bulbs or use integrated LED, so running costs stay low and you can pick warm or cool white to suit the room. Put the track on a dimmer and you can take it from bright task light to a soft accent glow.
