Mila 2 - Antique Brass 5 Light Centre Fitting with Clear Ribbed Glass

The Mila 2 centre fitting features an antique brass frame with five gracefully curved arms supporting individual cylindrical glass shades. Its symmetrical arrangement creates a balanced appearance when viewed from different positions in the room.

Clear ribbed glass introduces vertical lines and a subtle decorative texture, while the antique brass trim around the shades coordinates with the frame. The exposed central structure, circular lower support and curved arms give the centre fitting a traditional character with clean, understated detailing.

A matching antique brass ceiling rose and visible suspension chain complete the design. The clear shades leave the bulbs visible, making the choice of lamp an important part of the finished appearance.

The Searchlight Mila 2 uses five replaceable E14 LED bulbs, each with a maximum wattage of 7W LED. Bulbs are not included, so they can be selected separately to suit the required brightness and colour temperature.

The five light sources are positioned around the circular centre fitting frame, helping distribute illumination across the surrounding area rather than concentrating it in one position. Clear ribbed glass allows the light to remain visible while introducing decorative lines and subtle reflections.

Warm white LED bulbs can help create a comfortable atmosphere in living and dining spaces, while a cooler colour temperature may suit rooms where a crisper lighting appearance is preferred.

The centre fitting is compatible with dimmable E14 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly.

Designed for mains operation, Mila 2 is a ceiling-mounted fitting with Class I electrical insulation. Its IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor environments.

Are bulbs included with the Searchlight Mila 2 centre fitting?

No. The Mila 2 requires five E14 LED bulbs, which must be purchased separately. Each bulb must not exceed 7W LED. Choosing bulbs with the same colour temperature and similar light output will help produce a consistent appearance across all five shades.

Can the Mila 2 centre fitting be dimmed?

Yes, the centre fitting is compatible with dimmable E14 LED bulbs when connected to a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs should not be used for dimming.

How large is the Mila 2 five-light centre fitting?

The centre fitting measures 50 cm in diameter and has a maximum height of 150 cm. Consider the available ceiling height and the clearance needed beneath the fitting, particularly when installing it over a dining table or in an area where people regularly walk.

Is the Mila 2 suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The Mila 2 has an IP20 rating and is designed for dry indoor environments. It is not protected against water ingress, so it should not be installed outdoors or in locations where moisture or water splashes may reach the fitting.

Does the ribbed glass affect the appearance of the light?

Yes. The clear cylindrical shades feature vertical ribbing, which adds decorative texture and can create subtle reflections when the bulbs are illuminated. Because the glass is transparent, the bulbs remain visible, so their appearance and colour temperature will influence the overall lighting effect.
