Axis - Black Wall Lamp with Clear Diffuser IP44

The Axis features a black powder-coated finish with clear polycarbonate panels arranged within a four-sided lantern design. Its slightly curved roof, tapered body and decorative wall arm give it the familiar appearance of a traditional outdoor lantern, while the simple detailing keeps the overall look understated.

The clear panels leave the bulb visible and allow light to pass through the sides of the lantern without the obscuring effect of an opaque shade. The black finish works naturally with brickwork, render, stone and contemporary exterior colour schemes.

Its upward-facing lantern arrangement makes it a decorative addition beside doorways and along exterior walls.

The Searchlight Axis uses one replaceable E27 bulb, which is not included. Its clear polycarbonate panels allow light to spread through the lantern's sides, making the fitting useful for general exterior illumination around entrances, pathways and seating areas.

The manufacturer specifies an E27 GLS LED bulb with a maximum 60W equivalent output. The technical specification also lists a 25W lamp rating. An LED bulb can be selected to provide a suitable brightness and colour temperature for the intended location.

Compatible with dimmable E27 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly.

Its IP44 rating means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm and splashing water from any direction. The Class II double-insulated construction provides an additional electrical safety feature.

The lantern is designed for fixed wall installation and has a removable upper section for access to the bulb holder.

Is the bulb included with the Searchlight Axis 39550BK?

No. The Axis requires one E27 bulb, which must be purchased separately. The manufacturer identifies a GLS LED bulb for this lantern. Choose a suitable E27 LED lamp that fits inside the enclosure and provides the light colour and brightness required for your outdoor area.

Can the Axis outdoor wall light be dimmed?

The fitting is compatible with dimmable E27 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly. Dimming is not a built-in feature of the lantern itself.

Is the Searchlight Axis suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The Axis has an IP44 rating and is designed for outdoor wall installation. It is protected against splashing water, making it suitable for entrances, porches and patio walls. IP44 does not mean the fitting is waterproof against powerful water jets or immersion.

How far does the Axis lantern project from the wall?

The lantern projects 23.5 cm from the wall. It measures 20.5 cm high and 16.5 cm wide. These dimensions are useful when checking available space beside a doorway, under a porch roof or along an exterior walkway.

Can the bulb be replaced?

Yes. The Axis uses a replaceable E27 bulb rather than an integrated LED module. The manufacturer's installation instructions show that the upper lantern section can be removed to access the bulb holder. Always disconnect the electrical supply before opening the fitting or changing the bulb.
