May - Antique Brass 3 Light Semi Flush with Brown Milky Glass

The May ceiling light features a metal frame in an antique brass finish, complemented by three textured brown milky glass shades. The warm brass colouring contrasts gently with the darker glass, creating a decorative appearance without relying on elaborate ornamentation.

Each glass shade has a softly rounded, tapered profile, while the three-light arrangement spreads the decorative elements across the ceiling fitting. The textured glass adds visual interest when the light is switched off and helps soften the appearance of the illuminated bulbs.

Its combination of brown glass and antique brass makes May particularly suitable for interiors featuring warm neutrals, natural wood and traditional decorative details.

May uses three replaceable G9 LED bulbs, with a manufacturer-listed rating of 10W per lamp holder. The bulbs are not included, so they can be selected to suit the lighting requirements of the room.

With three separate light sources, the fitting provides illumination from multiple positions rather than relying on a single central bulb. The textured brown milky glass shades diffuse the light and can help reduce the direct view of the bulbs.

Choosing warm white G9 LED bulbs can complement the antique brass finish and brown glass, while the overall brightness will depend on the lumen output of the bulbs selected.

The fitting is compatible with dimmable G9 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly.

Its semi-flush construction keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, making it an alternative to a suspended pendant where ceiling clearance is important. Designed for mains-wired indoor installation, May has an IP20 rating and requires an earthed electrical connection.

What bulbs does the Prism May 83203 use?

The fitting requires three G9 LED bulbs, which are purchased separately. The manufacturer lists a 10W rating per lamp holder. You can choose suitable LED bulbs with a warm white or neutral white colour temperature depending on the lighting effect you prefer.

Can the May 3 light ceiling fitting be dimmed?

Yes. May is compatible with dimmable G9 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch. The bulbs and dimmer switch need to be matched to each other for dimming to work properly. Dimming can help adjust the lighting for different activities.

Is this ceiling light suitable for rooms with low ceilings?

The semi-flush construction makes May a useful alternative to a hanging pendant in rooms where ceiling height is limited. The fitting measures 20 cm in overall height. Check the available headroom and position before installation, particularly in walkways.

Can this light be installed in a bathroom?

May has an IP20 rating and is intended for dry indoor locations. It is not designed to provide protection against water splashes, so it should not be selected for bathroom zones requiring a higher IP rating. Check the electrical requirements for the intended location.

Are the brown glass shades clear or diffused?

The shades are made from textured brown milky glass rather than completely clear glass. This gives them a decorative appearance and helps soften the visible light from the G9 bulbs. The final brightness and lighting effect will depend on the bulbs fitted.
