What types of desk lamps are available?
When working at a desk you need more directional lighting than a ceiling light can provide — a desk lamp gives glare-free light exactly where you need it. Our range includes adjustable-head lamps, touch lamps, LED lamps, colourful options for children's desks, and the classic Banker's lamp. Banker's lamps were traditionally associated with a green shade, but now come in many styles including Tiffany glass — both practical and a design statement in any study or home office.

Things to consider when choosing a desk lamp
Think about what the lamp will mainly be used for — focused task work needs a different lamp than ambient mood lighting. Look for an adjustable head or arm if you want flexibility. For comfortable reading and writing, aim for an output of 400–500 lumens. Position the lamp to your left if you are right-handed, or to your right if you are left-handed — this avoids shadows from your hand. Point the shade away from your eyes to eliminate glare. An LED lamp is the most economical choice and produces less heat, which matters during longer work sessions.

Our desk lamps are supplied with an Irish/UK-style 3-pin plug. If you are ordering from outside Ireland or the United Kingdom, you may need a suitable plug adapter — these are not included.
