What light fitting would you suggest for over an island?

Our suggestion is that you dress your island or table with either singles pendants or an over island bar fitting. Hanging from the ceiling both of these lighting styles catch your eye and add a touch of style as well as providing illumination to the room, add a dimmer switch to adjust the level of light you may want in different scenarios.

How will a pendant fitting illuminate my room?

A metal over island fitting will project the light downward, available in various finishes including, chrome, natural brass, brushed gold, and bronze. More traditional bistro type fittings like Bistro from Searchlight are available with transparent glass, textured glass, alabaster glass, smoky and amber glass and will project the light around the room rather than in a particular direction.
